Proposed first draft of a motion to Conference.
The UFBA Notes:
That at the 2007 conference there were 196 delegates.
That the definition of the a delegate in Rule 1 of the UFBA rules state
that a delegate means a Fire Brigade Member elected or appointed to
represent a Voting Brigade at a Conference.
The UFBA Believes:
That many delegates are not elected or appointed by the Member of the
UFBA.
That many delegates do not go through a procedure giving the Fire
Brigade Members the opportunity to elect or appoint a delegate.
The UFBA resolves that:
The motion is put forward that all delegates provide evidence that they
have been elected or appointed by the Member Organisation and that in
future a delegate must be elected and appointed at either the AGM of a
member organisation or at special meeting under rule 10.3 of the model
rules.
